Congratulations to CSL researcher Minh Do (ECE) and students Matt Maitre, Quang Nguyen and Spencer Brady, who won the second prize of Engineering Open House’s “Sparking Curiosity-Technical” competition.

The group’s exhibit, “3D Remote Reality,” allows users to control their viewing experience by combining images from multiple cameras. Three cameras capture a scene – perhaps a video conference – from different angles and send the data to a computer, which processes the information. The computer transmits the data across the Internet to the user, who can change the 3D viewing angles with the click of a mouse.
