Interact with robots and more at the Interactive Medical Simulation Expo

The Health Care Engineering Systems Center (HCESC), in collaboration with Jump Trading Simulation and Education Center, invites the public to its Interactive Medical Simulation Expo on Monday, September 11, 2017, at I Hotel in Champaign. Participants will have the chance to interact with cutting-edge technologies, such as surgical robots, rehabilitation devices, and platforms that simulate surgery on virtual patients.

“Virtual reality is opening the doors to opportunities for affordable enquiry and experience that were not possible until now,” said HCESC Director Thenkurussi (Kesh) Kesavadas. “Participants can see for themselves why there is so much buzz about virtual reality.”

The Expo will showcase cutting-edge technologies that are being developed as part of the Jump ARCHES initiative, which began at UIUC in 2014. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technologies will demonstrate how future generation of medical professionals will learn and practice providing safe care to their patients. This event is part of the 4th Health Care Engineering Symposium, which brings engineering faculty members, clinicians, students, and healthcare providers together.

The Interactive Medical Simulation Expo is supported by SIMNext, a Champaign based medical simulation education company.
