Giving New Meaning to "CSL"

When the Korean War ended, the laboratory saw the need to move in a new direction. In 1959, after a two-year transition period, CSL became an unclassified laboratory. To reflect its new direction, CSL changed its name to the Coordinated Science Laboratory, retaining the initials by which it was well known.
