The Carruthers Geocorona Observatory

In 2020, CSL’s Lara Waldrop was selected by NASA to lead a $75 million mission to measure the far-ultraviolet light emitted by hydrogen atoms in Earth’s exosphere—the outermost region of our atmosphere. The data provided by the resulting Carruthers Geocorona Observatory will advance understanding solar-driven “space weather.”
