Security & Privacy

Current computing systems are large, distributed, and complex, consisting of applications, software, hardware, and networks and used by diverse user groups. Security threats and privacy concerns present major challenges for these systems. For example, in smart grids, security must be in place to provide trustworthy readings and processing of measurements across the whole cyber-physical infrastructure. When engineers develop medical devices, tools, and other components of the health-care eco-system, security and privacy must be embedded and become an integral part of the design, implementation, and deployment of the end-to-end health-care eco-system. Internet infrastructure is a major technological backbone of different application sectors to deliver secure, trustworthy, and private information among machines.

Research areas include:

  • Secure clouds
