Quantifying vulnerabilities
Assessing the trustworthiness of complex systems is especially challenging because much of our nation’s cyber-infrastructure has evolved over decades and is privately owned. Reliable tools must be developed to allow stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities and assess measures taken to address them.
Across an array of research initiatives, ITI faculty and students are developing mathematical models, methodologies, and tools for modeling system behavior and assessing correctness, and are creating testbed-based experimental methodologies for assessing trust.
