Research at CSL abounds. Our teams are working on solutions that will change the foundations of health IT, internet of things, cybersecurity, and robotics. Our new infographic series is going to visualize some of our research to get an understanding of how it can affect the future. We interviewed Prof. Lav R. Varshney on a recent manuscript he and his student, Sourya Basu, placed in the preprint server arxiv.org. It's also been sent for review to the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory Journal. The title is, "Universal and Succinct Source Coding of Deep Neural Networks." Their research created a lossless algorithm that can compress a deep neural network onto a device. This infographic breaks down what it's all about.
